Inside The Bone-Chilling Legend Of Black Shuck, The Hellhound Of The English Countryside

The folks in Bungay, UK, are well aware of Black Shuck’s abilities. Some of the town’s folklore, dating back to 1577, says the giant black hellhound killed two people kneeling in prayer after a bolt of lightning knocked down the church door.

The story says the ghost then traveled 12 miles to Blissburg Church, where it killed two more people.

Cujo and the world’s other scariest fictional canids apparently have nothing to do with the mythical black shell. These are terrible legends that still exist today.
